Why to choose SGVP Holistic Hospital for Ayurvedic Paralysis Treatment in Ahmedabad?
What is Paralysis?
Paralysis is a neurological condition in which a person loses the ability to move muscles voluntarily in one or more body parts. This occurs when the transmission of signals between the brain and muscles is disrupted due to damage to the nervous system.
The condition can affect a small area or larger body regions. Depending on the cause, paralysis may occur suddenly, such as after a stroke or injury, or progress gradually in chronic neurological disorders. It may also involve sensory loss, reduced reflexes, or muscle stiffness.
In Ayurveda, paralysis is described as ‘Pakshaghata’, a condition primarily caused by aggravated Vata dosha. Vata governs all movements and nerve impulses in the body.
When it becomes imbalanced, it disrupts neuromuscular coordination, leading to weakness, stiffness, or complete movement loss.
Ayurvedic management focuses on balancing Vata, nourishing tissues, and restoring functional activity.
Paralysis can be categorized in the following different ways:
Depending on severity
Depending on nerve injury or muscle tone
Depending on the area affected
From an Ayurvedic perspective, the type and severity depend on the extent of Vata imbalance and involvement of nerves (Snayu) and muscles (Mamsa).
Causes and Risk Factors of Paralysis
Paralysis develops when the spinal cord, brain, or peripheral nerves are damaged, affecting the signals controlling muscle movement. Common causes and risk factors are:
According to Ayurveda, these factors lead to Vata aggravation and tissue depletion, impairing nerve conduction and resulting in loss of motor function.
The symptoms of paralysis depend on the underlying cause, location, and extent of nerve damage. Common symptoms may include:
In Ayurveda, these symptoms indicate disturbed Vata affecting neuromuscular coordination, leading to impaired movement and functional limitations.
At SGVP Holistic Hospital, our experienced Ayurvedic doctor for paralysis in Ahmedabad assesses the symptoms carefully and determines the underlying cause of paralysis before providing a tailored treatment for each patient.

Here in the ritual of Pancha Karma the way Vaidha Pravin Sir Ayurveda explains something different noble thought in us. And when the ceremony starts with them, Vaidya Drashti Ma’am’s regular fellow’s understanding method is so good that it is as if during the whole ceremony he explains our every problem very well. They also do yoga classes and music and what about cleaning, the atmosphere is like Gokul Vrindavan Dham. This seems to be better than the hospital. Ahmedabad best Ayurveda Hospital 😊
Yes, Ayurvedic treatment is generally safe when administered by qualified Ayurvedic doctors. It uses natural therapies and herbal formulations aimed at gradual healing with minimal side effects. Proper diagnosis, individualized treatment planning, and adherence to medical guidance ensure safe and effective outcomes for paralysis patients.
Ayurvedic treatment can be started once the patient is medically stable after the acute phase, such as after a stroke or injury. Early integration of Ayurvedic therapies, along with rehabilitation, can improve recovery outcomes, reduce complications, and support long-term healing and functional improvement.
Ayurvedic treatment can significantly help in managing paralysis by improving nerve function, reducing stiffness, and enhancing mobility. However, it may not always be sufficient alone, especially in acute or severe cases. Combining Ayurveda with conventional treatment and rehabilitation therapies usually provides better outcomes and supports more comprehensive and effective recovery.
Ayurveda recommends a Vata-pacifying diet that includes warm, nourishing, and easily digestible foods. Items like ghee, milk, whole grains, and cooked vegetables are beneficial. Avoiding dry, cold, and processed foods helps balance Vata dosha and supports nerve health and overall recovery.
Ayurvedic treatment for paralysis may include herbs such as Ashwagandha, Bala, Shallaki, and Guggulu formulations. These help strengthen nerves, improve muscle function, and reduce inflammation. Such herbs are usually prescribed along with therapies and lifestyle changes, and should always be taken under the guidance of a qualified Ayurvedic doctor.
Yes, Ayurvedic treatment can help reduce pain and inflammation naturally, which may decrease the need for long-term use of painkillers in paralysis. Therapies and herbal medicines address the root cause and improve nerve function, providing sustained relief without the side effects commonly associated with prolonged medication use.
